Survival Saturday is  a round-up of the week’s news and resources for folks who are interested in being prepared.

This Week in the News

I almost skipped writing this week, because the news is all so horrible, I didn’t want to revisit it again. But, I do what I do because I really hope that I can provide some different insights because of my news junkie habits.

And my insight this week is that all hell is breaking loose. Well, hold on to your tinfoil, because even if you are not conspiracy-minded there sure are a lot of things this week that should make your spidey senses tingle. We’ll talk about Hillary Clinton, George Soros, race wars, cops, and distractions, and you’ll see how they just might all be connected.

Before we get started, I want to say two things. My very deepest sympathy goes out to all of the families who lost loved ones this week. Black or white, civilian or cop, they were all loved by someone and mourned by someone. I’m very sorry for the heartbreaking losses that were suffered.

Secondly, a caveat this week:

Comments with racial slurs will be deleted. Comments recommending violence toward the police or people of any race will be deleted. This is merely a report of the facts, as backed up by video.

Do not turn my comments section into a white supremacist meeting or black power protest or an anti-cop rally. Don’t do it. Lives were lost. Be respectful, because everyone who died is someone’s child, parent, spouse, or loved one.

I usually let everything fly as far as comments are concerned but today, I’m drawing the line at some of the nonsense I’ve seen out there in Internetland. We can discuss these events without being hateful. We can be angry without name-calling. We can discuss how things are very, very wrong without calls for more violence.

If you’re reading, you are a guest here on my website. Please behave accordingly. Thank you. Back to your regularly scheduled Survival Saturday post.

While it seems like chaos is unfolding,  I have to wonder if it could actually be the unrolling of a plan of distraction.

Bear with me through this timeline.

First, Unsurprisingly, Hillary Clinton Skated

Raise your hand if you were surprised when the FBI announced that Hillary Clinton wasn’t going to be charged.

*nothing but crickets*

Few people were shocked when that odious woman got away with yet another crime. The only good thing to come out of this was that finally, it seems that people are beginning to wake up. They are becoming a lot more aware of the fact that there are two sets of rules in this country: one for folks like the Clintons, who just keep getting away with crimes and getting richer, and one for the rest of us, who get fined, imprisoned, and impoverished. We don’t live in a constitutional republic anymore. We live in a plutocracy, as I wrote about at length here, and the awakening is occurring, right now.

Last week, I wrote about Bill Clinton’s secret meeting (that ended up being not-so-secret) with Attorney General Loretta Lynch right before the FBI questioned HRC. Lynch promised that she and Clinton only discussed grandkids and golf (how does she have grandkids if she has no kids?) and also promised to accept the recommendation of the FBI. Maybe, then, they already knew what that recommendation would be. That would certainly make it a lot easier for Lynch to remain in the good graces of the person who is likely to be the next President of the United States, now wouldn’t it?

Clinton was questioned by the FBI over the weekend, and then, ironically, the day after we celebrated our “independence,” it was announced that although she had exercised bad judgment, criminal charges would not be forthcoming. What they didn’t say is that the FBI had to actually make adjustments to the existing law for Clinton to walk away free and clear from this one. (More details on the entire disgusting fiasco)

The Chicago Tribune posted an excellent article suggesting the HRC had disqualified herself for the highest office in the land through her admissions, actions, lies, and being the subject of this investigation, however, I don’t believe Hillary Clinton got the memo.

Now, not only does everyone know that HRC stole the nomination from Bernie Sanders and that their votes meant absolutely nothing. They also know that she is above the law. Completely untouchable. The nation, in general, was outraged when HRC skated (again) on something that should have sent her to prison (again). So high was the outrage that a distraction was necessary.

Now, when I say a distraction was needed, please understand I’m not suggesting that Hillary herself said, “Hmm, let’s get some cops to kill some black guys. That’ll get me out of the public eye until people forget what a criminal I am.”  Not at all. This is more along the lines of “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”

Two Black Men Were Killed by the Police

The news tells us that two black men were killed at the hands of the police this week. Warning: The videos below are graphic and horrible.

First, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the police were called by someone who said that a man with a gun had behaved in a threatening fashion. When police responded, they confronted Alton Sterling. Sterling had a long criminal record, but no one seems to know whether the police were aware of this. A bystander got video footage of the arrest on his phone. The video showed three officers pushing Sterling onto the hood of the car, then tackling him to the ground, where an officer then shot him. Sterling died from gunshots to his chest and back, received as he was held down by two officers.

None of the videos circulating of the Sterling shooting showed him reaching for a gun, but one video showed a gun being removed from his pocket and laid on the ground by one of the police officers.

Next, in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, a woman livestreamed the aftermath of the shooting of her boyfriend, a concealed carry permit holder, while her four-year-old daughter watched from the back seat of the car. According to every report I’ve seen, Philandro Castile informed the police officer that he was a CCW holder. Castile had no criminal record. The couple had been pulled over for a broken taillight.

One police website said that Castile and his girlfriend “may” have been stopped because he was a suspect in an armed robbery. It turns out he was NOT wanted for armed robbery, but here’s the link to that rather weak article so you can read it for yourself.

Then, in Dallas, All Hell Broke Loose…

Not unreasonably, the black community was outraged at these shootings. In my opinion, outrage is always the appropriate response when someone is shot who should not be.

A peaceful march in Dallas, Texas turned into a war on cops. It was interrupted and turned into a bloodbath when a sniper took aim at police officers who were monitoring the rally.  Micah Johnson, a 25-year-old veteran of Afghanistan, killed 5 white police officers, wounded 7 officers, and wounded 2 civilians during his shooting spree. He was not officially a member of Black Lives Matter or the Black Panther Party, but had indicated support of the Black Panthers  (who advocate violence) on his Facebook account.

The New York Times reported on their conversation with Dallas police chief David O. Brown.

During the standoff, Mr. Johnson, who was black, told police negotiators that “he was upset about Black Lives Matter,” Chief Brown said. “He said he was upset about the recent police shootings. The suspect said he was upset at white people. The suspect stated he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers.”

While I do believe that the cops involved in the shootings being protested appeared to be in the wrong, based on the videos above, that doesn’t mean all cops should be blown away. That’s just like saying a black person committed a crime, so all black people are criminals. Right? Isn’t that kind of generalization what everyone is protesting against in the first place?

A stand-off in a parking garage went on for hours, until police sent in a robot with a bomb to blow up Johnson. Yeah – I don’t really like the idea of armed robots. Call me old-fashioned but I sure wouldn’t trust an armed robot to make judgment calls or assess a situation or carry out an execution. But, that’s how it ended. Here’s Truthstream Media’s take on the robot bomb.

This Will Really Make Your Tinfoil Tingle.

As a result of the public outcry, the State Department has reopened its probe into Hillary Clinton’s “carelessness” with national security. Interestingly, some of Clinton’s employees may go down for the same crimes that HRC was excused for by the FBI – crimes that they “committed” merely because Clinton had them handling her emails. “The State Department will now focus on whether current employees involved in handling or sending and receiving Clinton’s emails should get disciplinary action, which could range from a reprimand to losing their security clearance. Former employees found to be mishandling classified information could also have notes put in their file that could also have consequences if they seek future employment with the government and need security clearance.”

But, as a complete coincidence, Hillary Clinton is now off the front page. Because race wars and cops shooting when they shouldn’t and people shooting cops are all far more engaging to the public than the old news of HRC being untouchable.

And if that isn’t enough to make your tinfoil tingle, wait until you read this article, published 3 weeks before the shootings in Dallas. According to Intellihub, this whole thing is a George Soros-funded operation called Summer of Chaos, and things are going to get even uglier.

Soros is accused of single-handedly creating the European refugee crisis and has had his stubby little fingers in a lot of evil deeds over the years. If Intellihub’s supposition is correct, Soros is finished ruining Europe and is now focusing his evil glare on the US. If you recall, he funded the Ferguson riots and advocated violence against police during the Baltimore riots. Here is a must-read book about how George Soros is using his billions to fund progressive extremism and gain control of America. According to the book there are quite a few links between Soros and the Clintons.

Is this how the poop is going to hit the oscillating device? With riots and civil unrest sparking martial law and the final nails in the coffin of liberty? Will America go down in flames at the hands of Hillary Clinton and George Soros, aided and abetted by armed robots, curfews, race wars, and militarized police?

This Week in Preparedness….

This week, it seems pretty obvious that we need to get focused on being prepared for a societal breakdown. Don’t think you are immune just because you live outside the city. Ferguson, Missouri had a population of less than 20,000 people.

Are You Prepared for Civil Unrest?

Are you prepped? Because if things do go down the path of civil unrest, those living in cities and suburbs are going to have an awful lot of trouble leaving their homes for supplies. Make sure you have emergency food, a loaded pantry, a way to filter water, and a plan to protect yourself and your family. Here is what I wrote previously about lessons from the Ferguson riots and getting armed and prepped for civil unrest.

Folks, if you don’t have a sense of urgency right now, you really are asleep beyond anyone’s ability to shake you awake.

Food.

Water.

Defense.

Don’t wait.

If You Need to Get Prepped in a Hurry

Sometimes the urge creeps up on you, and you feel desperate to get prepared right away. These two articles can help.

How to Build a 30 Day Food Supply…FAST!

A Quick-Start Guide for New Preppers Who Want to be Ready RIGHT NOW

The Best Way to Be Free

On the 4th of July, I wrote that the best way to be free of the undue burdens on members of our society is to step away from it. Be free by needing less. Declare your independence by needing nothing enough that you can be coerced. The more self-reliant you become, the freer you become.

Make your life a declaration of independence.

But Don’t Forget to Enjoy Life

Yes, things are really tense in the world right now. Social media is like a nasty battle zone. Protesting means risking your life. We’re watching the wealthy get away with murder while we could be imprisoned for a victimless crime.

Despite all of this, you have to find a way to enjoy life. While there is a time to be serious, there is also a time to have fun with the people you love. If you expect to maintain your sanity, you have to learn to walk away from the grim goings-on and smile with your loved ones.

Fun Is Not the F-Word for Preppers

Anything to add to Survival Saturday?

Do you have any news links you want to share? Now’s the time! Please post your links in the comments below.

We are all feeling angry about the things going on in the world. However, I want to reiterate what I wrote above.

Thank you.

I really appreciate your cooperation with this.

Carry on! I’d love to hear what you think about the stories I discussed above.  Let me know what you think about this week in the news. Are you prepped for civil unrest? Do you think the SHTF is near?

  • The world takes another surreal turn.
The Minnesota shooting was particularly distressing if it went down the way the girlfriend described. The fellow went to the trouble of getting his CCW permit so he could carry legally. And it sounds like he informed the officer of that as a courtesy. And then he gets blasted while reaching for his wallet? What’s striking about that video is how composed the girlfriend is in relation to the cop, who appears to be screaming incoherently like a man with a spider down his back. Crazy freakin’ times. It feels like the country could fall at any time. Of course, I thought it felt like that a year ago, too.
Always good to get your perspective on things, Daisy.

    • What is distressing to me is the fact that cops feel the need to draw a weapon now before there is any obvious threat. Pointing a loaded gun at anyone is a STUPID move unless you are prepared to shoot them and have the RIGHT to do so. Too often nowadays, we see cops leading with their gun, then settling with it instead of the baton, or taser that they all carry.

I carry concealed and hope I never get pulled over. Just sayin.

      • Hi Brent,
I can offer some answer your questions of why an officer will draw his weapon early on in a contact with the driver of a vehicle.
A police officer will not know who the person is in the vehicle unless they have had contact with the same vehicle and person prior to this stop. That person could be wanted, could be driving a stolen vehicle that has not been reported yet and a whole host of other situations. There is no guarantee that the person driving or other people in the vehicle may or may not be dangerous.
Any officer these days must be on alert for any sign that he may have gotten into a dangerous situation which may not happen until well after initial contact. And every officer must often make a slit second decision based on the actions of the occupants. It’s very easy to make a judgment without knowing all the facts and circumstances as is usually the case with seeing online videos. Some times all the information is not all there.
Since you carry concealed, here is some advice for a traffic stop.
Keep your hands on top of the steering wheel at all times and have the window down by the tine the officer arrives. Be polite and calm. Be sure to comply with the officers instructions. If you don’t understand something he has told you to do ask him to repeat it again. He may or may not ask you if you have any weapons. If he dose tell him you do and let him know where the weapon is. Do not make a move towards the weapon. Let him tell you what you need to do about the weapon. There are many ways he can decide on how to handle this part of the stop and you need to be very careful to follow each step. No mater how things go your attitude will make all the difference in the world as to the outcome.
During my time in law enforcement, I have been hit three times by vehicles, had guns pulled on me twice, been assaulted numerous times, have been verbally abused and other various situations. It’s all part of the job. But the bottom line is that both sides have to be polite, respectful and cooperative to make the stop go without having things go south and end up in a positive manner. We are in a tough spot when it come to working in public places and I have never been around any officer that wanted to escalate any situation to the point of violence or a shooting. Dallas is a good reason why officers are overly cautious these days.
A good friend of mine stopped a vehicle one night because there was no lights on the rear of the vehicle. He walked up to the drivers window, bent over to speak to the driver and ended up being cut with a straight razor from temple to collar bone. He came close to bleeding to death.
We never know what will happen from day to day and like most people in this country, we would prefer to go home after work and not to the hospital or the morgue.
Get to know your local officers, thank them for the work the do and they can tell you a lot to keep you from ending up in a bad situation. There are very few officers that are bad apples and the ones that are don’t last very long or just never make it past the application process.
Hope this answers some of your questions.
        Have a great day.

  • In these times we often ask or state Why. We can not control anything other than ourselves; thoughts, words and deeds.Have Faith in what and when you are. We are here for this reason, this purpose and this very Time. On whatever side you stand just MAKE A STAND.

  • Daisy, I’m 70 yrs old, a child of the 60’s, on the ground floor of the civil rights movement, women’s rights movement. I have never seen such blatant disregard for human life as is being displayed by “authorities” today. I have a grandson in his 20s, did a stint in the marines, volunteer fireman. He’s half Hispanic & quite dark. It scares me to death to think what could happen to him if he pissed off the wrong cop. And his dad IS a cop so I’m familiar with both sides. But when our “leaders” thumb their noses at the law I guess we can’t be surprised when others with a little power do the same.

  • ‘Robot bomb’ seems like another way of saying, the origins of some kind of creepy real life Daleks.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalek

    …Or, ‘Terminator’. Take your pick.

I wonder if very many people outside Prepperdom think about what kind of culture they’d like to create and live in, and if they do, does it ever involve Not controlling others more and more?

Just another day under the game of thrones.

  • All I can add to the comments above is that Obama has deliberately been resurrecting the sins of the (D) Jim Crowe era, only reversing the “races” this time. My father personally knew Dr. Martin Luther King, took a rock in the eye during one of the 1960s civil rights marches from a “white supremacist”, and voted republican until the year he died. Dr. King would be outraged at the behavior of this administration and the paid protesters for fomenting a race war.

  • So Daisy, what can the average citizen, like me, do to protest the FBI’so lack of action? Write my Congressperson? Post this on the book of faces?
I have neither the resources nor the expertise to take on a campaign to seek justice re HRC.

Honestly, it is inconcievable, unconscionable and outrageous that our nation allows this to continue. Outright criminals running for office. And likely to get elected.
In the words of George Taylor, “damn them….damn them all to hell”.
Or the other option is a rich corporate slime with no tact or political savy.
Are people really that stupid? How did either of these morons get to the presidential race. It’s “Idiocracy” come to pass.

I want to care, but what does it matter? What can I do? Who to trust?
Let it burn. Let it all burn. Let’stand be done with it.

    • Anon, That’s a great question, what can we do as individuals? A couple thots: First, get our own house in order – these violent events motivated me to ramp up my prepping a bit -added more food, ammo, etc. Second, let’s each ask ourselves – what is my “circle of influence?” Our kids (whatever age), friends, neighbors, coworkers or employees, extended family. Is this an opportunity to say something that might make them consider prepping (w/out revealing our own preparations)? 3rd, If we know someone in law enforcement or a minority person, perhaps it’d be good to just call them to ck in & see how they’re doing during this turbulent time. 4th, call ur US rep or senators to find out what they’re thinking & tell them ur views. My personal response has been to pray for a sense of peace, calm, & reconcilation for our community & nation.

  • Dear Anon,

RE: ‘I want to care, but what does it matter?’

    I guess, that depends.

    RE: ‘What can I do?’

Seems like Daisy spelled it out pretty well on a number of her blog entries. Or (while it’s not quite my cup of tea) perhaps you’d relate more to this approach:?

” …we need to act on what we know. It may start with voting, but that’s the least we can do. Active, direct citizen participation at every level – local, state and federal – is the only real hope for change.”

    http://www.thedailybell.com/news-analysis/john-w-whitehead-politics-dont-matter-but-your-actions-do/

    RE: ‘Who to trust?’

An old saying goes something like this, “Trust, but verify. All others, bring cash.”

Lastly, RE: ‘Let it burn. Let it all burn.’

I guess, in The End, that will happen, in the meantime, I’d rather not be consumed by fire. Besides, you can be sure that if there’s any man-made burning going on, tptb won’t be the ones getting burnt…. just the little people, as Gerald Celente might say.

    http://usawatchdog.com/separate-laws-for-political-nobility-economic-elite-gerald-celente/

    @Maineuh –

““He had been pulled over at least 52 times in recent years in and around the Twin Cities […] was he targeted, or is 52 times just happenstance? Question: did that cop know exactly who he was pulling over when he went after him?”

    https://www.lewrockwell.com/lrc-blog/philando-police-target/

    “Crazy freakin’ times” is right.

    • Appreciate your time and effort helot, but was hoping Daisy would respond.
Daisy, I have emailed all of my federal elected officials.
      What else?
I will email my newspaper. I am not on the book of friends as I have zero time for that luxury. I run a busy home and homestead, and work full time.
So, what else can I do?
I’m mad as hell and don’t want this to go on. Im embarrased to be an American. I served my country but what we live in today is not what I call America, home of the free and the brave.
Let’s go people. Let’s get those arseholes in DC to sit up and take notice….and Im not talking about violence…yet. What are we all waiting for? “Someone to do something?” Well, that’s us Dammit!
Let’s not wait for someone to yell “fire” in a crowded theater!
      Anon

      • Hi, Anon. I think the most important thing is to be noisy. It took years of people spreading the word about GMOs for us to finally be believed. It will be the same with these politicians. And I do believe there is beginning to be an awakening. This election, people are beginning to see, beyond a doubt, that their “right to vote” means nothing and is just meant to placate the masses into thinking they have a say. We have to use the ammunition given to us when we see injustice and corruption. We have to take it upon ourselves not to let people be distracted and to force them to focus on the visible corruption. At the same time, withdrawing our own consent means that we don’t NEED government assistance, approval, or permission to live our own lives, feed and educate our own families, and be free human beings.

There is no formula. There is no step-by-step answer. I wish I could do more but I will ring this bell every week and hope that what I do will count.

        • Thanks for responding.
I wish it were as simple (as straightforward) as dumping some tea in the harbor.
          Anon

  • RE: “Secondly, a caveat this week:”

An interesting summation of, ‘The Now’ from Russian officials via an article by Claire Bernish which seems to apply widely:

    “the summer of provocation.”

  • I came upon this blog by searching for “day of rage” and read all of this post including the comments. How refreshing to read civil discourse.
As you say, keep ringing the bell.
I have begun to regularly contact my governor and legislators with respectfully worded emails and phone calls voicing concerns on any given topic but, I try to be informed and am always respectful.
I edit and copy them to my state congress reps in Washington to complete the circuit.
I do believe that they do take notice.
No calls no letters means no one cares or business as usual.
People are waking up and there is so much at stake in this election.
The division is deep between races and classes and genders etc.
But, I feel that it is a collective betrayal and that is what we the people could unite around IF everyone would just take a step back and see how we are being manipulated.

  • Offcourse the elite has special laws. I live in Europe and in my country it is the same. The government is a business with a monopoly on violence that tries to get power and to make a profit. And laws are merely a tool to establish that power. Obviously the laws would be less effective if the government and it’s allies were bound by it like the common people are.

I really hope that more people wake up and realise that politics is just a huge puppet show meant to trick the common people and screw them over for power and profit.

  • I’m reminded of this bit from the in-box of Becky Akers;

David Mueller’s mother found this explanation of politics and sent it to him; he kindly forwarded it to me:

I told my son “I want you to marry a girl of my choice!”

    He said “NO!”

I told him it’s Bill Gates’ daughter!!!!

    He said “OKAY!”

Got in contact with Bill Gates & told him “I want your daughter to marry my son!”

    He said “NO!”

Told him my son was the CEO of the World Bank!

    He said “OKAY!”

Went to the President of the World Bank & told him to make my son CEO of the Bank!

    He said “NO!”

Told him my son was Bill Gates’ Son in Law!

    He said “OKAY!”

And that’s exactly how politics works.

  • Welcome, and excellent rant! I think you’ll really enjoy the Survival Saturday posts because we are certainly on the same page in many areas! 🙂

  • WOW, how long have I passed up your site thinking I already had too many email?!? I’ve done nothing all day except read all your posts AND the comments under each., Daisy. Finally, thanks to you, Disgusted, and Anon a very, VERY refreshing public RANT just like I do privately every day, and so well thought out and expressed.

My search for this site, and news other than the scare tactic shite found so easily in sooo many places, has been put to rest. My prepping is for the immediately conceivable directly imminent in case of situations, but which are DUE to what’s going on stately or nationally. Like what Ive read here all day long. Not caught up in the mass mentality ‘wrongly’ assessing any situation from their very little perspective rather than REALLY thinking about the what, who, when, where, and most importantly, the WHY of anything going on from one minute to the next.

Instead of leaving a comment under each article, I’ve chosen just ONE because this article & the comments are near and dear to my heart. You THREE spoke from my head. Finally, intelligent ‘conversation’.

  • I often wonder how people such as Ron (above) can say what they do as if it were all good and true. Things such as: ‘Get to know your local officers, thank them for the work they do […] There are very few officers that are bad apples and the ones that are [cough] don’t last very long or just never make it past the application process.’ – Psft!

The bottom line is Always -always – ‘Be polite and calm. Be sure to comply’ a.k.a. submit.

Time and time again over the years the great William N. Grigg has demonstrated how every bit of Ron’s thinking is greatly and fundamentally flawed. I just wish that more people like Ron would spend some time and reflect while reading the works William N. Grigg has labored to produce, that is – the true relationship between ‘The People’ and those who put the boot-to-the-neck at the behest of our overlords. William N. Grigg’s blog is here:

    http://freedominourtime.blogspot.com/

    Consider this, too:

‘As justice has largely departed the justice system, it is hardly surprising that police lack any concept of justice.’ …

    https://www.lewrockwell.com/2014/11/paul-craig-roberts/do-the-police-recruit-psychopaths/

‘The American police perform no positive function. They pose a much larger threat to citizens than do the criminals who operate without a police badge. Americans would be safer if the police forces were abolished.’ …

    https://www.lewrockwell.com/2013/09/paul-craig-roberts/are-police-more-dangerous-than-criminals/

‘Never make the mistake of calling the police, and never get stopped by a traffic cop. You run the risk that he will drop a bag of drugs into you car and arrest you on a drug offense. If you encounter a police officer, be sure you have thousands of dollars with which to buy him off from making false charges. Most police charges are false charges. Americans need to wake up to this fact or the American prison population will outstrip the rest of the world combined.’ …
