If you know something is going to upset you, why would you deliberately put yourself in a situation in which you will be angered, saddened, or hurt? There’s no other answer except that you actually want to be offended.

Why would you go to George Washington’s church if you’re offended by George Washington? Why would you attend the university founded by Thomas Jefferson if you are offended by Thomas Jefferson?

Why do we live in a world in which the offended people get to make the rules when they deliberately propel themselves into places that are certain to offend them? It’s so blatant of late that I am positive they’re doing it on purpose. We no longer live in the United States of America. We live in the Offended States of America.

Take George Washington. Wait – I didn’t mean that literally!

I’ve never seen anything so ridiculous in my life as the historic church founded by George Washington taking down the memorial of George Washington. I was gobsmacked.

“The plaques in our sanctuary make some in our presence feel unsafe or unwelcome,” the church leaders said, according to The Washington Times. “Some visitors and guests who worship with us choose not to return because they receive an unintended message from the prominent presence of the plaques.” (source)

Even the Google listing promotes the history of the church.

And it isn’t like people have no option but to attend Christ Church. This is a map of the other Episcopal churches in the area.

By my count, there are 21 different churches of that denomination right there in the Alexandria, Virgina area, so, honestly, I don’t think I’m being outrageous when I suggest that there are multiple options to attend an Episcopalian service in a church that George Washington did not found if one is outraged by the existence of George Washington.

This is even worse than tearing down every last vestige of Southerners who fought in the Civil War. (Here’s why I think that removing Civil War memorials is baloney.) While I don’t think any of those monuments should be removed, at least it makes a smidgeon of sense if they’re in a public place. But these people went to a church famous for its attendance by George Washington and Robert E. Lee and then got mad about it.

This underlines my belief that there are some people who want nothing more than to find something by which they can be offended. They must actually search out a setting and put themselves into it deliberately so that they can share their outrage with the world. This virtue-signaling, politically correct melodrama is a symbol of everything that is wrong with the world. People get attention from their outrage. They become famous amongst the other virtue-signallers who then jump on the Outrage Express about something that had never even crossed their minds before.

Our college campuses are rife with it as students are brainwashed by professors promoting violent sedition into resisting perceived “fascism” with the goal of changing our country into a Communist one. You’re worried about fascism, boys and girls? If you somehow succeeded in your overthrow of the Trump/Pence administration, you’d have it in spades in your ridiculously idealized Commie utopia.

And what about your privilege?

Everyone is cast in either the role of victim or victimizer. They are either the privileged or the downtrodden. In this tunnel-visioned world, men are privileged as long as they aren’t black, and then they’re probably going to prison through no fault of their own. Caucasian people need to check their white privilege, smart people need to check their cognitive privilege, and holy guacamole, according to this article, there are a metric ton of privileges we need to look out for. In case you aren’t sure if you are part of the privileged class or the victim class, here’s a handy list from the article. This way you can identify your privilege and check it.

  • Ability: Being able-bodied and without mental disability
  • Class: Class can be understood both in terms of economic status and social class, both of which provide privilege. Social class can determine access to opportunities, to participation in politics, and opens up particular educational and vocational doors more easily.
  • Education: Access to higher education confers with it a number of privileges as well. Educational privilege opens a number of doors to higher paying careers (which links it to social class privilege).
  • Gender: Male-identified, masculine individuals still hold a level of privilege over people of other genders. Another word for the systemic operation of male privilege is “patriarchy”.
  • Gender Identity: While often linked to sexual orientation and gender privilege, this is the privilege that comes with having a gender identity (how one identifies and express oneself in gendered terms) that conforms to the gender identity that was assigned at birth and to societal and cultural expectations of such a gender identity.
  • Passing: Passing is the ability to appear to belong to another group. The ability to pass is itself a privilege because it allows an individual to claim the advantages of a more privileged group.
  • Racial: In the West, racial privilege is usually equated with white privilege since power, money, and influence tends to be concentrated among Caucasians in Western Europe and North America.
  • Religious: Religious privilege comes with being a member of the dominant religion in a culture – to have one’s own religious practices and observances recognized as the norm.
  • Sexuality: Heterosexual privilege includes the assumption that everyone is heterosexual which forces Queer people to be constantly undergoing a coming out process in their daily lives…Sexuality privilege also includes sexual practices and sexual history – the media often associates a woman’s worth with her sexual history through the hypersexualization of women, but also by relating a girl’s self-worth to her chastity and the public disparagement of women who are sexually active. This links sexuality privilege to gender privilege as well. (source)

Welcome to the Offended States of America

Literally, no one can win because if you win, someone will be offended. We have become a nation where no one is anyone if someone hasn’t offended them.

Personally, I’m offended by the constant barrage of offenses, and this isn’t the first time I’ve written about the outrageous level of outrages.

Words to express our affront are being made up left and right by the mere addition of “ism” to the ends of what were formerly perfectly neutral words. It seems like pundits can take basically any word and add “ism” to the end of it and that means they’re being slighted. The list of isms could go on and on, but instead of promoting more equality, all they’re doing is promoting more division. Isn’t that divisionism?

Personally, I’m affronted by the constant barrage of affronts. When did we, as a nation, become such weenies? How is it that such a collection of whiners has become the vocal majority? Certain people are constantly offended and demand the attention of others so they can express the epic level of their personal offendedness.

So vast is the recent level of Great American Butthurt that no mainstream news outlet is complete without breathlessly exposing a secret “ism” each day. These secret “isms” are called “microaggressions,” defined as “the everyday verbal, nonverbal, and environmental slights, snubs, or insults, whether intentional or unintentional, which communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative messages to target persons based solely upon their marginalized group membership.” (source)

Why stop with the Founding Fathers?

Now that we’re taking down all the statues of previous figures in history that offend us, let’s really get on a roll and fix this country. I think we should throw into the wormhole any movie produced by Harvey Weinstein since he was a sexual predator. And anything touched by any of those other people recently accused of being harassers? All of that needs to go, too. Don’t think Hollywood isn’t scrambling before someone demands it. Will that whole industry go down in flames because of the pervs who couldn’t stop raping and fondling women without consent?

I’m not making light of their crimes. Like most women, I’ve been on the receiving end of sexual harassment when I was in the workforce, and it’s horrible. But what I’m saying is, where does it end?

Who has not committed some act that made others feel bad? Should all of their contributions to society, entertainment, or enlightenment be ignored because they did something bad or were even wholly awful people? If something is accepted as common during a specific era, who are we to demonize them centuries later?  Where is the line drawn between people who must be erased from history and people who are foul individuals that still get to have their accomplishments present?

Find me more than a handful of our current politicians who don’t have repugnant secrets, who haven’t abused their power, who haven’t sold out to industries that are willfully poisoning us all to make a buck, or, by golly, erase every vote they have ever cast. Undo the laws that they sponsored. Tar and feather them and remove any mention of them forever. Think about it, we have the freaking William J. Clinton Library and Museum, and he was a serial harasser, womanizer, and cheater. I demand that library be renamed for someone who was perfect…or just be called The Library unless that offends illiterate people. Does this make me a readerist? Please don’t take my books away.

If our nation could be powered by offendedness, we would no longer have a need for fossil fuels. If we could earn money from outrage, we could finally correct that pesky national debt.

But until then, could we please put a lid on it before all we have left is a country completely bereft of history and culture?

  • The really funny thing about this is that these professors and professional victims are, pretty much, saying that minorities are too stupid and too lazy to make anything of themselves – that they are required to steal the labor of the more privileged and enslave the intelligent so that they can have whatever they want.

What will wind up happening, of course, is that those in power will use and continue to use political correctness and victimization to steal and enslave and beat down all who oppose them.

If this is allowed to continue, I think that Mao’s Cultural Revolution will pale in comparison to what will happen here.

  • Thanks, Daisy, for so well describing what so many of us feel. I too was especially appalled by this report of offense. Our history helps draw us together as a cohesive country — as the man said, “We must all stand together or we will all fall apart…” I wonder who stands to gain the most from our disintegration.

  • Damn girl, that was both hilarious with sarcasm and well said. I honestly wish there were more people like that. All my life I dreamed of going to college, while I made some bad choices in my early adult life I didn’t go like all my friends did. Finally, when I pulled my head out to smell the roses I decided to go to school. I can say it was the most profound experience of my life. However, the crazy brainwashing crap I saw was frightening and to think I paid a crap ton of money for someone to attempt to brainwash me. But EVERYONE was offended by everything. I remember when the oil boom happened in North Dakota while I was attending college. There was an influx of a lot of unsavory people because no background checks were happening upon hire. There was a sexual assault on campus and as an identifier he was called a black man, 5 ft 10, etc. People on campus jumped all over the police for using “black man” and it was a HUGE offended moment of many little do gooders or “sheople.” How the hell else could they narrow down the hunt for this man? He wasnt white, he wasnt purple, he eas black. Now they only use “a man” to describe a perp on campus. Absolutely ridiculous!! That was an edication all on it’s own. So the Offended States of America is so right on Daisy. Thank you for your post it made my day.

  • I believe the whole crux of this modern phenomenon is the advent of social media. This new construct has led to the false assumption that the person that is reacting to any said offense, that their opinion matters more than it really does in reality. This leads to inflated ego and self worth. Today’s social norms are no longer governed by local societal values and peer pressure. Therefor like minded individuals are but a click away. Thus reality of the in-saneness of their ever twisting ideals is hidden from them by their ever-growing contact list of collected yes men and busybodies. This unnatural social construct is just a mere offshoot to a modern form of mental illness that I refer to as techno- narcissism. The aforementioned syndrome is exacerbated by the individuals withdrawal from local and regional society. Therefore there is a total loss of real societal consequences as related to their said beliefs and or actions that under normal circumstances would be corrected or at the least bound and hidden by the “offended” individual. Unfortunately, this destructive behavior will continue to worsen unless preemptive steps aren’t taken now to triage the effects of modern technology on the social infrastructure of this nation.

    • You mean, like Daisy’s blog here? And these comments?

People of like-minds getting together is how friendships are made – and one person’s insanity is another person’s reality. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve predicted the outcome of one policy or another at my job, only to be told to shut up. A year or two later, when what I predicted comes true, nobody pats me on the back or tells me that they should have listened – to me, the constant repetition of failed strategies is insanity. To me, people voting for Tweedledee or Tweedledum, thinking that things are going to change under THEIR “Tweedle” is insanity. To me, people putting health care or any other important thing into the hands of an entity that they complain about constantly – that’s insanity.

Don’t blame social media for this. Blaming social media for this problem is like blaming guns for murder. The problem is people – their ignorance, their idealism, their undisciplined appetites but, most of all, their unrelenting insistence that EVERY STINKING PERSON CONFORM TO WHAT THEY WANT.

      • The way I took Robert’s comment regarding social media was that it wasn’t necessarily technology but the fact that some people are so used to just typing in whatever their ridiculous opinions are, making snide comments to people, etc and they are not accustomed to being held accountable for their words and choices and actions like we used to be in society. That I do agree with. I think a lot of people have grown up being able to hide behind a screen and say whatever they want and no one really calls them out on it. I agree the bottom line is people but technology has allowed them a forum to behave this way that wasn’t available before.

        • “… being held accountable for their words and choices and actions like we used to be in society … I think a lot of people have grown up being able to hide behind a screen and say whatever they want and no one really calls them out on it. ”

The issue with that is, who does the calling out? Who makes who accountable for what? Right now, “society” is calling people out and making them accountable for any and every opinion that they decide to label politically incorrect. Right now, we are the ones who are disagreeing with “society”. Precisely who would you want telling person “A” that they can speak but person “B” cannot?

The same “forum” that gives them a place to speak their minds is the same “forum” that gives us a place to speak our minds – and before, where liberty-minded people were isolated, now they have places to find one another and become a force for liberty.

          • As far as I can see it is the masses policing themselves, making themselves be politically correct. In the old days people who where of this mindset would be ostracized from society, blackballed, run off or beaten or worse. Now nothing happens.

I view the social media and Internets as a self induced prison. Nothing said or done is real unless the viewer believes it to be. You can yell as loud on this board as you like, but your family member in the next room, your neighbor across the hall, and your government official cant and wont hear you. If you want change you have to back it up in real life not just the box offered to you. You are in an artificial construct but doing nothing tangible.

Again it is the loss of “REAL” social interaction that is the root cause of this dysfunction. The problem is that too many have for too long been relying on an artificial construct to open up about how they feel. So much so that they don’t cant and wont express these things in person. That is the whole point of my comment. Social media should be a tool in the toolbox of social interaction not the only one. Without real person to person social interaction on the ground face to face, society will degrade and crumble as it is doing now.

            • “… I view the social media and Internets as a self induced prison …”
              Welcome to Prison ….

“…You can yell as loud on this board as you like, but your family member in the next room, your neighbor across the hall, and your government official can’t and won’t hear you….”
              LaLaLa – I can’t hear you!

“…If you want change you have to back it up in real life not just the box offered to you. You are in an artificial construct but doing nothing tangible….”
In your post, you provide the seeds of your own counter-argument. And, as far as doing nothing tangible, the same could be said for newspapers, books and magazines – they also do nothing tangible.

Years ago, I was isolated and alone in my beliefs. Now, I’m not. That’s pretty “tangible” to me. Also, I must point out that this social media full of self-absorbed children which does nothing “tangible” seems to be affecting the real world in a very tangible way.

I also think that society was degrading and crumbling long before there was such a thing as social media. Social media is not the root cause of the dysfunction.

  • You said it again so elouquently: You spanked ’em!
When you erase your history you have now erased your people.
Were those complainers complaining because the pews were too hard for their derriere’?
Or because George, and most other Presidents were blatant FREEMASONS? Do they feel offended about that oath of loyalty??? I am!!!
Thank you for such a good article again Daisy, you are quite impressive to me! Oh Oh, is there a cupcake out there that will think I’m overly flirtatious…I have refused to let those who someone told, that they never have to be offended by anything in life, to barracade my conversations anywhere I go, and unfortunately there is a gang-land approach from those folk…That is the reason so many peeps are on anti-depressants…People please note the perpetuation of the overall agenda that is perniciously foisted upon us!
A great resource for education, with brilliance is at; [email protected]
    Blessings to you Daisy!

  • I’ve had it with this privilege mess. I’ve WORKED two and three jobs to get myself through college. And now that I have a little something to show for my struggles it labels me? Being liberal is a political disease. Great article Daisy!

  • Love it Daisy!!
One chooses to be offended and we have a lot of idiots out there who choose to be offended by everything! They all need to get a job and sweat for a living instead of sitting on their asses thinking of more ways to be offended!
Ridiculous but where does it end? I have little patience for this nonsense and I am certain I am not alone.
    Keep the articles coming!

  • I believe this behavior is coming from the generation of everyone gets a trophy for participating. I was brought up that there were winners and there were losers. You did not get a trophy for simply showing up. It taught me that if I wanted to win I had to work hard. If I lost I had to realize someone was better than me but I could always strive to do better next time. I work with a number of people and three of them are 30 years old. They are highly paid professionals and the things that come out of their mouth and the expectations that they have blow my mind. I’m not sure what can be done to stop this other than everyone needs to stand up and say this type of behavior is NOT acceptable. Period! Interesting times ahead for us all I’m afraid.

  • I love your idea of a new privileged class being “readerists”! This could be the beginning of a nationwide grand book-burning event. Not only could it keep us northerners warm this winter when the grid goes down, but it would also be a great leap forward in our masters’ plans to dumb us down.

  • We are all being indoctrinated to think this way. The elite changes our society and the people in it to whatever the elite wants us to be. And right now the elite apparently wants us to be dumb fools that hate each other. So most people become dumb fools that hate each other.

On a personal level you can resist the elite’s indoctrination by being woke. But as a species humans cannot save themselves from ignorance. The elite knows human psychology very well and uses it against us. And in the rare case that one does become aware of this he will probably still be ignorant to a lot of things because the elite has layers upon layers of lies and deception.

My advice is to be both open and critical to everything. Even if a conspiracy theory appears to be too crazy to believe, try to honestly listen to its proponents and to really debunk them with valid arguments based on your own logic and observations. Endeavor to be intellectually integer at all times because our own psychology is being used against us in tricky ways with the purpose of making us believe in lies. Perhaps you will one day find that one of the greatest certainties you had in life turns out to be false.

  • What is going on is a part of the Hegelian Dialectic, Alinsky’s rules for radicals, the communist manifesto, and so on… In other words, the Parasite class’ (elites or globalists to some) agendas. “Order out of chaos”, by the “divide and conquer” method is their favorite template. “They” are insane psychopaths. Sound all insane and tin-foil hat-ish? Everything is out there to read, even at the library. Laugh at me. I do not care. We are being taken over by the insane and their minions, and too many still do not see it, or are unwilling to see it.

  • just wanted to point out an overlooked piece of history……

it wasn’t hitler or goebels who burned the books in the famous book burning photos from nazi germany. it was the student union.

forget the nazi part, it was the easily propagandized youth.

history does’nt so much reapeat itself as it does, rhyme……

  • Daisy, I nearly fell over laughing at this article. It is so, so true! I live in the UK and we have the same, whiny, self-obsessed idiots here as well. It is pure attention-getting. They can’t seem to stand on their own integrity and have to whinge and destroy everything else. It’s pitiful. Unfortunately this is life today. Thank God for preppers!

  • I wonder what the church would do if someone who went claimed to be offended by Christianity and the Bible? This stuff is beyond ridiculous!

  • Rebel0007

Loved this essay by you Daisy!
Proving your point is this youtube video aimed at outlawing Halloween at Yale, by Campus Reform. People just kept signing it. ” I think that people will look back at Halloween as a time of oppression. I once saw a Chinese American man dressed as a Chinese person at a Halloween party with a pointy straw hat, mocking stereo types. I wasn’t quite sure how to react! . I honestly dfo not recall people dressing in racially offensive stereotypes.

  • Thanks Daisy for a good read. Thankfully there are still people out there that can see how mind numbingly crazy and pathetic the human race is becoming.
I’m down in Oz and we all just shake our heads in disbelief at how you yanks behave now.
Anyone offended by the word ‘yank’ ?☺
I believe the reason behind all these ‘fake’ genders, endless crybaby snowflakes and their ilk is their collective unhappiness. They refuse to face their own issues so blame society as a whole for their deep seated unhappiness. The USA has a mental health crisis and a severe unhappiness crisis.
This won’t end well – a civil war is brewing (again) and the realists will be the winners.
History repeats – war, climate change, food crises, plagues.
    Reality – 1, snowflakes -0

  • The first year of our non-Lord officially began on September 11, 2001 — and those in power in the Council on Foreign Relations, the Royal Society for International Affairs, Chatham House, the Club of Rome, the United Nations, and the Project for a New American Century had already told us this would be the century of change, and that China was to be ‘the model’. I’d say, they meant it and are “making it so”.

  • yes it is part of the plan of the NWO they also did it in the middle east,,,blowing up historical sites,,destucktion of history an culture is part of the NWO/aginda 2030 plan,

  • Great article. I wish everyone in America could read this and then have an enlightening moment of clarity to see and understand how the country is being ruined. Put on your big boy (or girl -don’t want to be sexist) pants, take responsibility for yourself and your actions, and better your life. No need to tear down others to better yourself. The person who can’t swim and is drowning will pull under the life guard to get a single gulp of air, ultimately resulting in 2 deaths.

  • While I do agree with the sentiment of taking the statues down from public spaces (I think that they belong in a museum, not a public square), I am confused by the want to stop these offensive items from reaching people who are offended by them. Can’t they just, like, not go to them? Or avoid them completely? And wasn’t George Washington the great patriot who founded the United States through his great military leadership? I mean, he WAS declared a SIX (6) STAR GENERAL after his death so that no other US official could outrank him. Why are people so weird?

  • Yeah everyone is welcome in the church but George Washington.
These folks fall outside established natural law I.E. outside the excepted norms of the general population thats been in place for centuries. These people are a very small minority and their number from what I can tell do not exceed 2 million.
They think they are fighting the system, when in fact they are doing the bidding of a political class and a marxist one at that. Lenin would like these people as Marxism = Communism.

  • Did you ever see so many silly ways to avoid saying “man” or “woman.” I lol’d at this: “the privilege that comes with having a gender identity that conforms to the gender identity that was assigned at birth.” LOL such first world problems! I say, bring on the EMP. It’s time to return to the 19th century. Leftists need real true problems to grapple with, not these fake problems. This insanity is literally powered by electricity.

  • “Offended” people only get their way if they want more government power. If you’re offended by government power and its cult-like worship, no such luck as anyone catering to you.

Politicians will latch onto anything that concludes with them getting more power and money.
